"We wanted to extend a huge thank you to Green Tomato Kitchen for helping to make our wedding day absolutely perfect. We had a vision of celebrating our marriage with all of our favourite people in and around a huge marquee on our lawns. We wanted fresh vibrant seasonal and zingy food that would keep people happy and sustained throughout the day. We spoke with Jo early in the year about the possibility of her catering for around 100 guests and she was a delight to work with from thereon in.
After some initial conversations about what we might want, Jo was an incredible support in gently pushing the planning forward. With professionalism and enthusiasm and huge creativity, I was provided with ideas and menus, plans and budgets with a clear idea of next steps. Green Tomato Kitchen were invaluable not just with the food itself but in asking all the right questions to ensure that everything peripheral to the catering itself was organized (facilities for food preparation on the day, availability of tables, chairs, cutlery, napkins, table decoration etc). Planning a wedding is hard work and this kind of support was an incredible help.
The feedback we received from all of our guests on the food was overwhelmingly positive. I have many fond memories of enjoying bubbly and canapés with friends in the sunshine early in the event, and of guest's smiling faces with plates brimming with all good things later in the day. Freshly baked quiches, selections of summer salads, cold roasted new potatoes, an amazing sweet potato and something tagine are some of the dishes I recall from a truly wonderful day. After speeches, there was somewhat of a stampede to the dessert buffet where we were treated to a mouth-watering selection of fruity, chocolaty, creamy gorgeousness.
The Green Tomato Kitchen gang on the day were a real joy to have around and the professional approach extended all the way through to the next day when they had disappeared and left behind an immaculate, bright shiny preparation area - surely cleaner than when they had found it. I would not hesitate to recommend Green Tomato Kitchen for any catering event you may be planning. I certainly hope to have a reason to get in touch with them again!"

"Jo came and catered for our Volunteer Thank You evening at Bristol 2015 Ltd in June. She put on a great spread for us which looked great and tasted wonderful. Our volunteers commented on how tasty the meal was, and several said that they are usually disappointed with meat-free meals but had really enjoyed our buffet. When I mentioned at the end of the night that they should take home leftovers everyone jumped on it, by the time they were finished there was nothing left. "I have recently arranged my friend's hen party which we held near Bristol. The bride-to-be is vegan so instead of the usual situation where she has to ask "can I eat this?" about everything in a restaurant, we thought the best idea would be to arrange entirely vegan catering. We went for Green Tomato Kitchen, and I am so glad we did! To be completely honest, as a meat-eater, I was a bit worried that we might just end up with lots of salad for the weekend, but Jo really came through with an absolutely fantastic menu for us. In a party of 13 with only one vegan, every single one of us loved the food. The lentil chilli with mango salsa and guacamole was my favourite, and the dark chocolate tofu "cheesecake" to follow was to die for! The spinach and courgette tart also went down a treat and nobody could keep their hands off the delicious brownies, flapjacks and lime and ginger cake for afternoon tea! Not only was the food amazing, but Jo was just great too - she took all the stress out of it for us by coming to the house on the Friday night to prepare and serve up our food for us and gave us clear and simple instructions for the following night's dinner too. She also kept us updated about the menu throughout our planning. I would not hesitate to recommend Green Tomato Kitchen to anyone looking for vegetarian/vegan catering. "Jo and Green Tomato Kitchen provided the catering for my Dad's 60th birthday party, and overcame a number of obstacles to deliver the most delicious, imaginative buffet for 65 people. The obstacles included working in an ill-equipped kitchen (party was held in a self-catering house), and a majority of the guests being passionate carnivores - but this didn't faze Jo in the least. The food was presented beautifully, and consumed by everyone with gusto - blowing any misconceptions of vegetarian food out of the water. Jo was so easy to work with, keeping me in the picture as she developed the menu options, and going to great lengths to manage specific dietary requirements.
